Spanning over 50 feet, Cedar Falls is the largest waterfall in Hocking Hills in terms of water volume. At the top, water slides down a massive chunk of sandstone and splits in the middle before meeting up again to plunge into the pool below. This makes it one of the most unique looking waterfalls in the area.
This waterfall flows under a natural bridge, giving it a distinctive look. Rockbridge Waterfall only has water flowing occasionally, but the combination of natural features makes it worth the visit. You can get to this waterfall by hiking or by canoeing, which is another adventure in itself!
This may be the tallest waterfall in Hocking Hills at 150 feet! This majestic waterfall is an absolute treat to see after braving the long hike to get to it. Not only will you get great exercise making your way to the waterfall, but you’ll also get breathtaking views overlooking Buck Run below.

The colossal Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio is home to some of the best scenery and hiking trails in the Midwest. If you’re looking to get some fresh air and spend the day outside, visit the caves at this picturesque state park for an adventurous day with friends or family!
The caves inside Ohio’s Hocking Hills State Park are a must-see while visiting this serene region. Below are three caves that attract visitors from across the nation! Remember to view the Hocking Hills State Park map to see how the trails lead you to each cave.
There is so much to see when visiting Old Man’s Cave, making it one of Ohio’s most popular attractions. This cave was naturally formed into a half-mile long, 150-foot deep gorge. The one-mile hike around Old Man’s Cave offers many unique bridges and scenic views. A stone bridge and rugged trails lead to the waterfall, and Sphinx Head will introduce hikers to unique rock formations. Also, another part of Old Man’s Cave is the Devil’s Bathtub, located in the upper gorge. This weak layer of blackened sandstone is enlarged by the swirling action of Old Man’s Creek, creating the whirlpool that is the Devil’s Bathtub.
This horseshoe-shaped cave (700 feet long, 100 feet deep, and 90 feet tall) is one of the largest recess caves east of the Mississippi. Ash Cave offers an upper and lower trail for hiking, each approximately a half-mile long. Across from Ash Cave lies a beautiful waterfall that freezes from top to bottom during the winter! Getting to Ash Cave is made easy, as visitors will follow the flat path from the parking area to the cave.
Rock House at Hocking Hills is the only true cave in the state park. Many natural cut-outs in the cave look like windows! If you peer through these “windows,” you will be able to gaze at the greenery of the valley below. The tunnel-like cave is located midway up a 150-foot cliff made of Black Hand sandstone. To learn more about the Rock House and its rich history, visit Hocking Hill’s Official website!

Don’t miss the Vidal Blanc, a white wine completely grown and produced in Ohio. Order a charcuterie board while you finish out your tasting with other classics like Pinot Noir, Riesling, Malbec, and more. A few consistencies include their Penny Porter, with notes of caramel, toffee, raspberry, and vanilla, as well as the Whispering Cave IPA, with grapefruit, orange, and apricot. Otherwise, try the ever-changing experimental beer on tap, as well as the rotating beer cocktail if you’re feeling adventurous.

If you can’t get enough, drive a little outside of Logan to a brewery or winery in Athens, Ohio, or likewise in Canal Winchester. The possibilities are endless—just make sure you have a designated driver to get you from spot to spot.
