![]() While some people like to hole up at home during the winter, here in Hocking Hills, Ohio, we do things a little differently. If you can’t escape the winter, why not embrace it? We celebrate the coldest times of the year and the beauty that accompanies it with two annual events: The Hocking Hills Winter Hike and the Logan Frozen Festival. Make sure to stay at Cut Above Cabins during the winter and discover some of the best things to do in Hocking Hills all year long. The Hocking Hills Winter Hike For more than 50 years, the Hocking Hills Winter Hike has attracted attention from hikers across the country. And it’s deserved: imagine 5,000 hikers taking 5+ hours meandering through Hocking Hills State Park to see everything that Ohio geography has to offer. Think: sandstone rocks and waterfalls, all with a fresh coat of glittering snow from the sunlight. Throughout your winter hiking excursion, you’ll also see landmarks like Old Man’s Cave in Hocking Hills, Cedar Falls, and Rose Lake. Plus, you’ll go past the tallest tree in Ohio, a hemlock standing at 149 feet tall. Keep your eyes peeled for black bears, too—so they don’t steal the provided mid-hike lunch.
